Project Responsibilities, Skills, Specialties

Technical support for construction and operation of APS beamlines including: Develop and construct electronic and electromechanical devices for controlling instruments.  Construction and maintenance of PLC devices for equipment protection and personnel safety utilizing electronic circuits, relays, solenoids, sensors and etc.  Maintenance of electronic instrumentation.
Project engineer: Supervised construction of space science instrument, liaison to spacecraft contractors for integration of instrument to spacecraft, conducted design and interface reviews with project personnel.  Developed and constructed low voltage power converters for space science instruments.  NASA qualified soldering, quality control inspection and material selection for space science instruments.

 

Other Skills

Experience with PCAD, AutoDesk AutoCAD and Protel, machine shop equipment, vacuum systems including UHF and electronic test equipment.
