EPRI, a medical imaging instrument. (Halpern)
Hale, an instrument for infrared astronomy.  (Hildebrand)
HAWC, an instrument for infrared astronomy. (Harper)
APO, the 5.5 meter telescope, adaptive optics experiments and telescope top end related work. (Kibblewhite)
SPECT, a small gamma camera for conjugate imaging.  (Aarsvold)

 

Previous Projects

Department of Radiation Oncology, designed a number of patient and x-ray positioning devices.
COBRA, redesign of chopping mirror for the COBRA telescope (Dragovan)
HERTZ, design of a integrated half wave plate and driver motor housing (Hidebrand)
CHAOS, design of mounting hardware for the APO telescope (Kibblewhite)
Medical cyclotron (model CTI CS 15), refurbishing main instrument along with the many sub-systems to include the vacuum, cooling, and extraction systems.  
Echelle Spectrograph, facilities instrument for the Apache Point Observatory (Hildebrand)
TRACER, instrument for high altitude balloon flight.
DASI, telescope for the South Pole (Carlstrom)
PETT, high-resolution brain scanner.
JPL-M, curve-measuring stand for vacuum/pressure formed thin mirrors.

 

Project Responsibilities, Skills, Specialties

Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, twelve years.
Journeyman Instrument Designer/Maker, ten years.
Continuing Education classes in vacuum technology and vacuum chamber design, vacuum leak detection, Opto-Mechanical and Auto Cad solid modeling and related CAD classes.
Project responsibilities include mechanical design of systems and components using Solid Model software (AutoDesk's Mechanical Desktop and Pro Engineer) for all design work.
Performed "Designer" level analysis using FEA software (Design Space by ANSYS).
